Named after Liber, the Roman god of wine, this design was born during a stroll through a wine cellar. The variety of grapes—the tones of their skins, their textures, and the endless possibilities they hold—come to life in this rug. Woven entirely in shades of red, it creates a powerful and intoxicating effect, much like a grape being crushed and transformed into wine.

Each shape represents a grape; together, they form a captivating whole. Unlike traditional kilims, the fringes are placed along the long sides rather than the short ends—because this design celebrates not boundaries, but possibilities. Liber is an invitation to surrender to the power of red.

This handwoven rug has been specially designed and crafted on a loom using the traditional kilim technique. Each rug is unique, made in collaboration with artisan women from all over Turkey.
